With the coming holiday of Thanksgiving in the U.S. I have been reflecting a lot on how I got here to this place in my life of hiking. The people and places that have shaped my experiences.
National Public Lands Day (NPLD) is the largest single-day volunteer effort for America’s public lands. Each year, hundreds of thousands of volunteers come together on the fourth Saturday in September to assist with various projects designed to restore and enhance public parks, forests, waterways and more.
It's hard to believe how quickly a week can pass. More unbelievable to me is the willingness of the people I've gotten to know who will show up to help with a messy job.
