With the coming holiday of Thanksgiving in the U.S. I have been reflecting a lot on how I got here to this place in my life of hiking. The people and places that have shaped my experiences.
It was almost a year to the day that I tried to track down my friend and fellow hiker the Wandering Pine as she started on her attempt at thru-hiking the Superior Hiking Trail (SHT) in one five week blast.
This part of Minnesota is special to us hikers because it holds so many hiking options: more than 12 State Park and Waysides, the Superior Hiking Trail and the North Shore Trail are just a few. The only challenge is picking one for a day hike. They all have something special to offer.
